…the BL story is a much more dynamic story …But it’s not where my heart lays. Perhaps not now, but I’m hoping that if you stick around and get to know us more, that your heart may be moved through compassion to tell our story. My heart wants to tell the story of a weak person who has gone through abuse and abuses himself. I want to answer the questions of ‘why this happens’ to both the audience, and to myself. I’m certain you’re aware that ‘abusers were abused’ is a myth and a smokescreen to the real issues underlying sexual assault. This link has been drawn in film and the media many times before – even in The Boys of St. Vincent (the topic of this particular sub-thread) where Steven Lunny, a hurting young man who was sexually abused, admits to sexually molesting younger boys in the orphanage – so I must digress once again to my original point: what is it you are trying to accomplish or convey that has not been done before? As an artist myself (in music and literature), I am always seeking to produce something fresh and unique. What is unique about your project? To date, the answer I keep coming back to based on your posts is ‘nothing’. J Come away, O human child, to the waters of the wild, with a fairy hand in hand, for the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand. |
