If there is one part of the bible that I lack knowledge in, it is definitely the old testament. I was thinking about Jesus' sacrifice as the replacement for the burnt offerings we were supposed to do under Judaic laws (Ive heard this interpretation many times before). But then I got to thinking that the important part of the sacrifices was in fact the burning, which God said was a pleasing aroma to him. So, Im wondering... if Jesus is the replacement for these sacrifices why was his body not burned? It would seem that Jesus' death did not resemble the type of sacrifice demanded by God in the Old Testament.
