You mention how liberal media gives the Europeans an unimformed opinion and such... as an American living in Europe I have to disagree. Do you think that American media gives you all the answers? If you think so, then ask yourself why you never see any real war footage on TV except tracer fire over Baghdad? Maybe that's because the military learned their lesson in Vietnam... but the lesson they learned was to keep the media out. All media.

Surely anyone on this message board can tell you horror stories of how the American AND european media create fear and hatred of paedophiles by judging them on the front page before a trial?

Anyway, I think this situation is too complicated to be oversimplified as such. If one is anti-war, does that mean we should just bend down and take a hearty helping of nerve gas? If one is pro war, does that mean we should Daisy-Cutter (Or the more modern MOAB, which is coincidentally a Biblical name, the incestual son of Lot) every country that looks at us funny?

All I ask is that people think through their opinions and think through both sides of arguements.

My view? I'm just concerned that the "Shock and Awe" tactic is a disaster. Send in a few thousand of America/UK's special forces soldiers and they would be fully capable of crippling the Iraqi military with the aid of a few A-10s without causing the widespread havoc we're starting to see tonight. THEN bring in the massed forces simply to occupy.

It would be a moral and tactical victory. Why spend $93 billion on an imprecise giant campaign?
