FOD - You bring up a very good point about the motivation to believe in God. Obviously, my guide (the father of the twins) agrees with you, because he has set the stage for me to want to believe in God for all positive reasons. The truth is, I haven't even considered the salvation argument yet. Why would I search my own soul for such a belief when I didn't have to? I am motivated to find God because I see the potential to live life in a whole new, and wholly more meaningful way. If there is an afterlife as well, then I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. Feel free to ask away, btw, about links between Christianity and Judaism (which there are many). I've been reading in depth about Messianic principles of Judaism (commonly known as "Jews for Jesus") and have come to discover that if I decide to go down this path of Christianity, it is the most natural of the progressions for a Jew to make. Jews have always expected the Messiah to come, and it is well within my religion to consider that Jesus was the Christ. It is also clear that one absolutely can become a "Christian Jew"!
