Hi FOD, Actually it was one of my teacher mentor/supervisors that made the suggestion to me to persue more a "teacher" relationship, rather than a friendship-type. I guess the trick is to know when, in being relational, weather I'm acting out of a need to want to see the child improve. Seeking friendship would imply a need on my part for the child's friendship. That is where I have to draw the line, and, also, why I would never consider teaching someone like my YF, although I have helped him on his homework and the like.
