John -
One of my strong feelings about human sexuality (as with any other human drive) is that if you try to contain it like a spring, it will only spring back harder. If you try to contain it your whole life, then you will be exhausted, in pain, and frustrated your whole life. I believe that many pedophiles, like myself, have tried thousands of times to "turn it off". I even went into therapy out of my own desire to "turn around" and to "be normal". I paid for it and nobody forced me to go. While I certainly was able to reduce the amount of fantasizing that I did, there would always be a spring back to where I was before. I don't think that we have the power to change who we are, but I strongly believe that we have the power to seek God, to find the purpose for us being who we are and to ask for his help in channeling our desires. There is no question in my mind that God has done that for me and I am practically in tears each night as I thank God for showing me a path that I can take to find him.

My best BL friend, one who I met on the net but have spent tons of time with in real life as well, is also a very caring, loving individual who works with kids. I want him to see how my life is changing because of God's love and I hope that someday he will seek God too. Maybe he has already started to :)

If God loves all of his children, which he does, and if Jesus ate with sinners, theifs and prostitutes, which he did, can there be any doubt that we have an obligation to show others what God can do for their lives?

You are not alone.
