I agree that repressing feelings is not healthy or even loving. It is, for one, being dishonest with oneself and with GOD. We become hypocrites when we repress our feelings. However, there is a distinction between repression and a healthy ventilation of feelings. Its like a nuclear reactor...being a little modern here :-) If we keep on repressing the energy build-up..it will eventually reach a breaking point and explode...badly. Therefore, proper ventilation is necessary. However, people just dont release all that radioactive decay and material into the air and water just whimsically. The waste material/energy is ventilated safely and properly. Sex is the biological nuclear pile in our lives. If we repressed it, we will explode eventually (as Paul said). If we decide to vent it out by having wild, irresponsible sex practices and lifestyle, then...well..you get the point. And this is where I am a little undecided and unsure. What constitutes a safe, healthy, GODLY and loving way of venting out ones sexual feelings? I am not sure...but it would seem when I work with kids..especially those that I truly and deeply love..that sex energy gets transformed into something much more healthy. Sure, I still feel that intense "dynamic" energy..but it isnt to fondle, orally or anally copulate with them...but to do what is in their welfare. Its hard to explain..I hope you understand what I am saying.

Anyway, I hope that helps.

In Christ,
john Guard
