Seed

F.O.D.,

I have followed the word "seed" throughout the scriptures, and it seems to me to indicate that in most cases, the inheritance is passed through the seed; in this case we inherit death from our ultimate father, Adam. In order for this chain to be broken, there had to be a new seed (the Word spoken into Mary's womb) planted in order to break that tie to Adam. When Jesus was born, He was a new creature, (or creation if you like) who had to be tried, the same as Adam was tried, only this "Adam" didn't fail. As I have said before, Adam was created innocent. He became guilty because he succumbed to temptation. If he hadn't failed, Jesus need not have come. Jesus was created innocent, (not perfect) He became perfect because He did not fall to temptation, vexation or the suffering placed upon Him by a depraved, selfish, selfinterested, egotistic humanity. If Jesus had failed, only God knows what the next step would have been.

I'm not inferring that Jesus didn't exist before He was born in the flesh. Colossians tells us that He was the beginning of God's creation, and He made everything else that was made. He was the "Voice of the Lord God" walking in the cool of the garden from whom Adam and Eve hid, because they were ashamed of their nakedness. (Genesis 3) He was the "power of the Highest" that overshadowed Mary when she became pregnant with Him. (Luke 1)

Well, I'm rambling, but I hope I've made a point.

love,
Andy
