Why is masturbation sinful?

What is God's purpose for sex? I think it goes way beyond pro-creation. God's standards for me... are the highest standard of excellence that I can attain. But I do allow myself sexual expression as part of my life. I feel that God created me with a sexual identity that I can explore within certain boundaries. Sin is being a part from God. If masturbation becomes a roadblock to our relationship with God, then it is sinful. If it is simply a part of living and expressing who we are as sexual beings, then I think that it is part of God's plan for sexual expression. Peace of Christ, Bach
