Hi meNJ, I've been following you threads here and wanted to say that you put this very well. I can't argue that the Bible WAS (or wasn't) inspired by God.... although we do have to take "Man's" word for that as well, now don't we? ;0 Anyone who has the power to observe mans work, would agree that man is far from perfection, and is liable to make errors.... or "miss-speak, if you will, when it comes to his own subjective views on any matter he proclaims to be the "absolute truth". "so, How do I know what to follow and what to dismiss? Simple, I read and use the Bible as a guide, like it was meant to be, but the direction of the Holy Spirit to my still heart, is how I answer your question.(how I know)" I agree that each person must listen to the "still small voice" within themselves, for spiritual direction. There are many people that have trouble listening to the holy Spirit's direction in their life, specially when it might challenge the very fundamentals of their religious mindset, things they've learned from their earliest years." The problem is, that people often try to think with their heads when seeking spiritual direction, rather that to feel with their hearts. thanks, For the Love of God tks |
