"how do you know what to follow and what to dismiss"...you ask first off, I believe the Bible, but not in a literal sense, Remember it is Inspired by God, but Written by man. It is indeed infallable, anything man has a hand in is infallable,.. which nevertheless does NOT detract from the Greater truthes that are there, the truthes that are indeed inspired by God. so, How do I know what to follow and what to dismiss? Simple, I read and use the Bible as a guide, like it was meant to be, but the direction of the Holy Spirit to my still heart, is how I answer your question.(how I know) There are many people that have trouble listening to the holy Spirit's direction in their life, specially when it might challenge the very fundamentals of their religious mindset, things they've learned from their earliest years. you wrote: "if it were me, i would most certainly follow the stuff that i agreed with and dismiss the things that would require me to change. but thats just me," I respect your honesty,..as it appears that's exactly what you are doing here. |
