A sacrifice

I asked one of the twins today do something which caused him to be humiliated in front of his friends. What he had to do was the right thing to do and it saved his best friend from the same humiliation. Nobody knows that he sacrificed, so he does not get to appear as the hero. His best friend gets that title. He just ends up looking like the loser. I have no question that he SHOULD have done it, however the fact that he had to suffer because of it and because I asked him to do it had a more profound effect on me than I expected. I suffered with him today, knowing that if I hadn't asked him to sacrifice then HE would have been the hero today in front of his friends. He is MY hero for what he did, but at the moment he is probably too angry with me for putting him in this position. I would gladly humiliate myself in his place but that is not an option. I just hope that he knows how much I love him and how thankful I am to God for blessing me with him in my life. I love you M. Sorry to take up all of this bandwidth.
