You made a good point about responsibility. You are right that we can't be responsible for another person's actions. Each person is an adult, and is responsible for his own actions. However, I do believe that accountability is a different thing, and we can provide that for each other. That means expecting that each person here to do those things that are responsible and loving, and confronting them (in love) when they don't. I'm having trouble understanding your rewording the sentence opposing the manipulation, coercion or abuse of children. I don't see how we can be "opposed to any treatment of children which is contrary to the love that God intends us to have" without being "opposed to the manipulation, coercion or abuse of children." I really can't imagine that anyone here would accept the abuse of children. --Julius |
