It's a metaphor...and real dogs are hardly defenseless. I was insulting Christians with it, in case you were wondering. The point is that this "some guy" fellow's statements have about as much relationship to reality as said dog pissing on my foot. The dog doesn't make me angry; it's too stupid to know better. Your sexual orientation IS condemned by the Bible. There's little anyone can do about that, save re-writing the thing. They run the world, though, don't they? I suppose that's really why it matters that so many hate the thought of you. And I don't suppose it matters to you, hurt as you are, whether or not that hurt is justified, that things are changing, that real thinking is being done. And those whose self-images depend upon their identity as Christians see this and are afraid. Is it any wonder they fight back with claws extended? I'd really like to know why it matters what specific words are written in any part of the Bible. I'd really like to know why science has to drag the church kicking and screaming along each part of the way. da Rue, crawling back under my rock.... |
