Who we are in Christ...

Hi All, I am back again with yet another installment of my favorite study: "Who we are in Christ". When we become Christians, we are given a new identity, our identity as a child of God. And it is this new identity that God see's when He looks at us from that moment on. Our sins are not only forgiven, but are gone forever in God's eyes. We still live in a cursed world and because of this, we all still sin at times, but praise God, we can come before Him and recieve forguveness for our sins through Jesus Christ! We have victory over this world of sin through Him, because He gained victory through His death and resurection. So that is what this part of this study is about...Victory! "He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son." Rev. 21:7 "For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?" 1 John 5:4-5 "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." 1 John 4:4 "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." John 16:33 We live in this world now but we are no longer citizens of this world of sin and corruption....we are now victorious over the world through Jesus. Even when we "screw up" or sin, we still have victory because Jesus gained it for us! This is a very important truth about our new identity, we have victory because Christ has victory.
