I didn't mean to imply...

Hey my brother forgiven,

Just a quick note to you, and anyone else still reading down here, to clear up my position on sexual relationships.

I must be more careful what I say! When I quoted David and Jonathan, and then Jesus and the disciple, I didn't mean to suggest that I thought these were sexual relationships. I have to agree with you that there's no evidence for that. I was just trying to encourage our new friend lonlyrider that strong emotional bonds between men are okay. He didn't seem to be asking about sex.

I did go on to talk about sexual relationships between men, but only in that "some christian writers" say it's okay. Reading my post again now, I think I was a bit careless in the way I threw the point in.

What do I think myself? Well, I'm still reading those writers myself (e.g. James B. Nelson) and comparing with those who oppose it (e.g. Stanley Grenz) and it's heavy stuff on both sides! It depends on how you decide to interpret the bible and build your wider understanding of personal ethics, a big topic to work through. But even if I did conclude that adult gay sex was okay, that's not the same as accepting man-boy sex. Not at all.

No, in fact, I totally agree with you that the sexualisation of man-boy relationships is a distortion of what they should be, and I'm interested in sharing with you in your project of explaining why.

God bless you brother, and a merry Christmas indeed. And yes, I will get myself a decent email address sometime...

With love,

Jules
