Hi Echo:
If I may add my 2¢ worth.
I believe this (non-sexual) love comes from God towards the children and due to our fallen nature (the sinful side) we find ourselves drawn towards that end. Also sometimes the children themselves yearn for that (sinful side). I have found in the past, when I go to correct a problem with a YF after I have failed, it blows-up to something much worse than it should. This is especially true when adults get involved.

Read Romans chapter 7. Paul talks about the things he wants to do, he does not do, and the things he does not want to do, he finds himself doing.
He ends that chapter saying shall we continue in sin that grace may abound.
He clearly answers with a clear NO. However, I believe he is talking about is shall we continue in sinful habits deliberately. I believe the best for a boy is if we can abstain from the sexual side (by denying ourselves) but I also believe that the area of weakness is also where God makes us strong. Would the Wright brothers fly airplanes if they gave up after they would fail, time and again.

I believe the many successes the Lord has taken me through would not of happened if the adults knew of my fallen side before. I have been to the mountain tops in victory, and I have been to the pits in defeat, but I know the Lord was there all along, even if I didn't believe it at the time.

Be much in prayer and the word is good safe guard, and wait for the Lord to open opportunities to do His will. I believe this comes through structures of authority (Romans 13), that He opens doors. Also, be ready for defeat at times. All the great man of the bible who were willing to step out of their comfort zone found both enemies and defeat in their process to succeed great things for God. Consider, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, and the list goes on.

Your friend in Christ,
Compassion.
