What do Catholics believe?

As far as I know Catholics believe that Mary is still alive and pray to her. I think theres another dodgy thing they say that when Holy communion is taken the bread turns into Jesus body inside you - trans- something? Anyone want to set me right on anything? BUT - I know that Catholics are amazingly Godfearing ( too much so in some, missing out on a relationship with Him) and many are full of the Holy spirit and love Jesus with all their heart, it;s just they see their traditions as being different to ours.
