Seems to me that Kierkegaard's greatest weakness lies precisely in his emphasis on the individual. In his reaction against Hegelianism, he went to the opposite extreme, leaving no apparent place for thinking about the Church as anything more than a collection of individuals. The way I've read that aspect of his thought, it's another variation on the old problem of the relation between the one and the many.

Having said all that, there were parts of Sickness that moved me to tears...
