What a question. As Bach said, a lot of us struggle with the same. I do. I know that. And I still do struggle with those who say that Boy Love is a blessing. But I also get upset when some people call it a hinderance or a curse. My one CBLF friend and I, through our email discussions, have concluded that it's just a way of life for some people. And all this talk about celebacy reminds me of monks and nuns. Don't get me wrong about it. I would never have sex with someone besides a woman I got married to (if that ever happens). But Jesus came to this world to deliver us and NOT to condemn us. He told us that very clearly. Humans are the ones who "condemn us" without just cause. The Lord (the father of the trinity) is the judge. ANd Jesus Christ stated himself that "I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me." The writter to the Romans said you need to confess with your mouth that JESUS CHRIST is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, THEN you will be saved. John said, "If you confess your sins He [the Lord] is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." Peter said in Romans that he STRUGGLED with still sinning after his life with Christ. He said that He still sins. WHen he wants to do good, evil is right there with him! But he says (what a lot of Christians have trouble coming to terms with) that because of the blood of Christ, it is not he who sins anymore. It's the sin living inside of him. So that's why we a Christians MUST try to get rid of the sin in our life... But is Boy Love a sin? What do you consider boy love? Is it enjoying moments around children? Is it longing for sexual contact? Is it lustfully dreaming of them at night? Is it acting out sexual acts? Pray to God! You can't change yourself by yourself and God won't change you overnight (He can, but it usually doesn't happen). I can't tell you what to pray because I don't know. But just talk to him. Keep a journal about it. So many times I open up my prayer journal and God answers a question I have. But here's my advice... Don't be afraid to get close to kids.... but not so close that you feel like you can't get out. The Lord promises us this: The Lord will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. Do not confuse this quote. It is not The Lord will not tempt you beyond what you can bear because the Lord doesn't tempt you. Do not be upset with him because of your attraction. WHo knows... maybe he was even tempted the same way. I don't know. But I think I've thrown enough out for you to handle. God BLess you all. Huck "In Christ" |
