more serious, but less profound

I don't think I'm very far-travelled down the path of contemplating the meaning of pain and suffering.

Seems to me the real answer is that it has no meaning, it isn't a part of Life at all. That is, God hates it as much as we do, and he has no higher purpose for it. Sure, he'll make use of it since ipso facto it's there, but it's not part of his world.

It's presence among us today is therefore an anomaly and a fantasy, albeit a painful fantasy in the here-and-now. But the here-and-now itself is a fantasy, and we yet await Reality. We await the day when we will wake up and see Life as it truly is.

There is no suffering in Reality.

Psalm 73:20
