All true - as a good evangelical myself there is nothing in this post with which I would disagree. The question is one of motive - the implication of the post is that those of us who share our struggles in this area on this board aren't Christians - or at least have not been through the process you so clearly describe in your post. Well I suppose some of us may not - but I'm not at all sure this is a helpful post. And I note that the poster has not given us an email address to respond specifically to the challenge. Now the story I want to hear is: I was a boylover I turned to Jesus Overnight my inclinations became wholly directed at women of the same age as me Anything else smacks of telling the heathen they are wrong... which is not an appropriate way to approach others who claim to be Christians. (c.f. the example of Paul with the 'believers' in Ephesus who had only got part of the story - check your facts first!!) So - OSH - if you're out there - I hope we can enter a meaningful dialogue? If you don't come back I think it is would be fair to describe your behaviour as the worst sort of hit and run evangelism that gives evangelicals such as you and me a bad name. (Note the you and me guys - I'll probably sign up to any statement of faith you want to line me up with...!!) |
