Okay, let's get this straight.

I do not believe the bible to be some kind of 'infallable' little guidebook. Paul says that homosexuALS will not inherit the Kingdom of God, NOT JUST those who engage in homosexual acts. Don't try to pretend and play these verses down.

Oh, and by the way, if you READ the first chapter of Romans you will see that Paul thinks that HOMOSEXUALITY IS A PUNISHMENT. Want proof: Romans (1:27) And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the women, burned in lust... RECIEVING IN THEMSELVES THAT RECOMPENCE OF THEIR ERROR WHICH WAS MEET".

I personally think that my homosexuality is a GIFT. If God is punishing me (like Paul says he is!) then he sure as hell has a funny way of doing it.

And what does that even mean, "Let God mould me". I hear Christians say this all the time and it still doesn't make sense to me. 'Giving your life over to God' has NOTHING TO DO WITH READING THE BIBLE. The BIBLE is just a bunch of scriptures put together BY MAN, FOR MAN and WITH MAN. If Jesus himself wanted, he could have written the scriptures himself. Giving your life over to God is all to do with THE HEART, and NOBODY has ANY right to tell ANYONE how to do it. The only obvious things it should give someone is well-being, empathy and understanding. But judging by the way Christianity works these days, these three things are very rare in the church indeed.

If God doesn't want me to do something (and sorry to put it bluntly) he can come down and say it to my face rather than having my rely on mystical scribblings from dark age goat herders that are completely indistinguishable from mythology.

I have studied sin in the bible, what is labelled as sin in all religions, and to me it is doubtlessly the transgression against COMMUNITY. Ever since the fall (ego expansion) different cultures have had different concepts of sin, but they all follow this one RULE: LOVE GOD AND LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR. Conservative Christianity cannot survive in a rapidly changing world but without these two rules we are lost forever!
