Christian BoyLove Forum #60308
I have never understood why, in a utopia, sex should be restricted to marriage. I'm not saying it isn't, after all Swedenborg says it is and I trust him because of the other things he has said, but I just can't understand why. Neither can my friend's mother, who introduced me to Swedenborg in the first place. Neither of us know what our heaven will be like.
I can understand why premarital sex was a sin in Jesus' time, obviously, but as culture changes, effectively the definition of sin changes too. For any Christian with a practical sense of responsibility, I think that any sex is holy as long as it is not abusive and as long as it is not treated as a crutch or a vice. I think a lot of men make this mistake, so the highly conservative lash out and then say that the sex is evil, rather than the addiction problem that the man had in the first place. I'm just throwing this out there. I've been very pompous and argumentative on this forum in the past, so I just want to tell everyone levelheadedly what I believe. I think that, reading the bible through Jewish eyes, you can trace pretty much every one of God's laws back to love, just like Jesus said. This is why I lean towards Jesus in the first place. His two great commandments tell me that he knew exactly what he was on about. |
