Christian BoyLove Forum #63580
Hi Everybody,
I have a question to ask, or an opinion. For those that follow my posts, i work at a daycare. I work at a privately owned daycare. I was told yesterday, along with the other staff, that we can not decorate the place for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. That seemed odd to me as the kids really enjoy these holidays. We always went all out at the other daycares i worked at in the past. I was told, the owner is a Jehovas Witness(sorry if i spelled it wrong). I don't know about that religion, but was told they don't believe in holidays. Now, i have no problem with people believing in their own religion, don't get me wrong there. And this guy is the owner of this daycare, so he does have a right. My questions are, does he have the right to force his religion on all the staff and kids at this daycare? Does he have the right to say we can not celebrate the birth of Jesus? Can we not celebrate the founding of this country? I think without that, he would have nothing? Of course there are a lot of questions i could do here. I want your opinions or remarks of this. Me, myself, he has every right to believe in his religion, but when it comes to kids, they also have a right to be happy, and to expect a cheerful holiday season where most of their time is spent. Most of the kids are here for 12 or more hours. It is their second home. All the kids hugg me like their parents. So, please let me hear from you on what you think. Is this ok because he is the owner and we have to do what he says? Or, do i have a case to bring to his attention. I may be fired if i confront him on this, and even if he says no decorating etc. I WILL still pass the word to all the kids that JESUS is our Lord and HE is to be Praised an honored. The first day after Thanksgiving, i will start wearing my red and white Santa Claus hat! We will see what happens then lol. No offense to those who are JV, if you are, maybe you can give me advice? Thanks everybody in advance for your opinions. God Bless. NASH |
