Ignore evil and it remains evil. Most Germans ignored the Nazis - until it was too late. Ignoring what is hateful and evil is the mark of laziness, uncaring and irresponsibility. I for one can't ignore forgiven, who's trying to say that his church is loving and accepting while his minister preaches that love between gay men is a sin. What his minister is preaching is evil and hateful. I've grown used to the Christians on this board accepting and even encouraging evil and hate. It makes me believe that there is something basically rotten at the heart of Christianity - something that makes Christians accept that hate is normal or necessary. Perhaps it's something that makes them think, as you do, that ignoring evil is preferable to doing something about it. Jim |
