So I'd like to echo what you say about accountability, but simply point out that everything you say is just as applicable to people who are attracted to adults. No one who finds himself attracted to another person can be sure that he will be attracted to that other person in twenty years' time. So all of us need to take that into account when making our decisions about how to act toward the person we've fallen in love with.

Most adults don't go into a relationship saying: "When he/she turns 30, I know that I will no longer be attracted to them."

I think the majority of my concern is that pedophiles (who define themselves by their AoA) set themselves up for the fall, so to speak. They seem to be saying that they are drawing a clear delineation of where their love will end, so they never allow themselves to fall totally in love in order to spare themselves the hurt of separation. This is not only unfair to the adult but to the child as well, since the child is under no such misconceptions.

Inevitably, time will alter all things but defining relationships by setting a certain time limit is not actually being in a relationship. It would equate more with a "one-night stand" than it would with a relationship based on love.
