That's a good question. But if you think about it, it's a very loving person that would dare give another person the right to choose when he could have practically made us robots/slaves instead. And this is one of the reasons why the angels envy us. We have the ability to choose, and God loved us so much that He came down as one us to die as a sacrifice to atone for our bad choices. He gave us the opportunity to choose wrong and made a way for us even if we did choose wrong. Pretty cool, huh? And then there's a question of "Why would God allow us to feel sexual attraction (not a choice) for certain others when He sees it as wrong?" This is even tougher to answer, but maybe it is as most people say -- to try us by fire. In the opening chapters of Revelation, Jesus keeps repeating that it's the overcomers that will enter the kingdom of God. There's a work that God wants to do in us. Some people have different "thorns" (as Paul puts it) than others. Boylove is my thorn, and it's my trial to overcome. Maybe God's plan for my life has something to do with how I develop as a person because of this attraction within me. If I can identify the selfish aspects of it and work on using it for the benefit of others (such as in mentoring, tutoring, discipling, or just being a friend to a boy), then I have become an overcomer. And who knows what plans God may have for me in His kingdom. This is just the beginning. ~Splash* |
