Why do I need forgiveness? This has been bothering me since I read your post, but I didn't feel like addressing it at the time. But, since you've responded to my intitial query, I'll take a stab at it. You claim that Christianity is about forgiveness and imply that I ought to be forgiven. Forgive MY repetitiveness, but that's awfully presumptuous of you, yet again. I'm not a Christian. I don't believe in your god or your sacred writings. Just because some superstitious tribesmen decided thousands of years ago that it was a "sin" to for a man to fuck another man up the ass, what has that got to do with me? For you to claim that I need to be forgiven, you must necessarily first CONDEMN me, otherwise I have nothing to be forgiven FOR. Therefore, I don't want your forgiveness and the very offering it of it offends me to the core. Why can't you and your fellow Christians just practice your religion in peace and leave me and my fellow queers alone? Don't forgive us. Don't preach to us. Just leave us alone. Doesn't that make a huge amount of sense? |
