Hi,

I'm new (I've been watching for some time -- excellent group here. I'll introduce myself better later). But I'm just curious, AI... why do you CARE so much? I think your beliefs are hideous and depressing, and cause hate and despair such as we see in you, but I don't go around attacking atheists all the time. So you hate Christianity... what motivates you to come in here and attack all the time? There are plenty of religions to hate, why Christianity?

Now I will grant that Christians sometimes prosyletize to atheists, and for good reason; we believe that you are going to be lost, and what's more are going to miss out on the most wonderful experience imaginable, and since we love you and want the best for you, we have no option than to try to tell you the truth (because even if we're wrong, we do think we're right, and are motivated by wanting the best for you). Atheists, though, don't have that -- Christians lose nothing by being Christian if Atheism is right, so there's no reason to convert us.

In response to your frequent accusations against God, perhaps you haven't considered the story very well. God created us out of nothing, and we turned around and spat in his face. Why would he owe us anything, and why would it be wrong of him to wipe us all out entirely? It wouldn't. It would be well within his rights, which is why you see that he is a loving and merciful God for deciding to save anybody. He's done things that make us cringe, things that seem horrible, and yet those were reflections on us for deserving them, not on him for doing them. The Bible never says God is a pussy cat. That he would then decide to die to save our worthless beings... that's why I love him, my friend.

Christians aren't "intelligent"? You're quite right, they don't need to be. "At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes." "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." Is it so awful that God should stoop to save the simple, those who do not worship their own intelligence? God made me intelligent (relatively -- maybe not as intelligent as you and some other people), and I thank him for that; but I trebly thank him for even then allowing me to receive his beautiful gift of simple faith. Why should I despise somebody else for not having the IQ that I have? Is it their fault? No, and they're probably better as a person in many other ways, and certainly as able to enjoy life.

Respond then if you will with your vituperation and your bizarre porcine comparisons. Do you think it's going to hurt me? Do you think it's going to shock me? I do question though why you waste your time. Has your psychologist told you to take out your anger on non-existant Beings?

Sincerely yours,
ATN
