From a Christian newsgroup: ...a part of the communist belief system is atheism. Should I therefore conclude that all atheists are communists and agree with all the atrocities that have been committed in the name of communism? Or should I recognize that atheists are a diverse lot and that many would disagree with the belief and actions of communists? That's the mistake -- your assuming that a couple billion Christians all believe and do the same thing. Would it not be ludricrous if we referred to all atheists as "you people" with the assumption that every atheist fits into the same stereotype and believes the same thing, and then go into a support forum and blast all atheists for the horrors they've done in the name of unbelief? The forum then becomes "hijacked" away from being a place of support and turns into a hostile environment of debate. Our interactions with "Artificial Intelligence" have consistently moved us away from the focus of this forum, and that's the problem here. There's a lot of people who need this site to remain as it is -- a support forum for Christian boylovers. It's wise to keep it this way. There's plenty other places for religious debate, but few places like this. For this reason, I understand, accept, and support the decision of the webmasters. |
