Law requires judgement; law requires an end to forgiveness; law is not doing good to those who have wronged one, nor the turning of another cheek, et alli; law reqires that one person examine another and judge the prosecuted less; etc, etc. Add to this, one thing : if a nation is a free and democratic nation, then each citizen, having power over the law, has the moral weight of the law upon them - which, at its highest, is vengance. So to answer your question : Says who? Says Jesus. |
