Hi cups,

The struggle is not strange. Everyone struggles in life; even those who do not know God. Those who struggle for worldly goals are never, nor ever will be, satisfied. God leaves an emptiness in everyone… an eternal emptiness… that cannot be filled with temporal things. Temporal things just won't fit, and will never satisfy the emptiness.

As for the sight of a young man or boy appealing to you; nowhere in the scriptures does it tell us that this is wrong. God doesn't expect us not to appreciate the beauty of His creations. The thoughts you entertain when you see His creation is what makes it wrong. This would be true, also, if you had the wrong thoughts when beholding a beautiful young lady or woman. Matthew 5:28 tells us not to look on a woman to lust after her. That simply means that we should not dwell on lustful thoughts, no matter whom it is about. When you lust after someone sexually, male or female, you are stealing. They don't belong to you. Therein lies the sin.

God wants us to appreciate the beauty of His creation. Is it wrong to admire and allow your soul to bask in the beauty of a breathless sunrise or sunset? Of course not. Yet they can evoke strong emotional response, if we will allow them to do so. There's nothing wrong with appreciating God's beauty. That's why He put it there, and why He made us capable of appreciating it.

Of course, there are many sites on the internet where perverse people exploit and distort the beauty of God's creation. These are mind rapists, and if you frequent these sites, you will always go away from them feeling dirty and contaminated. You need to stay away from these sites. (Just my personal opinion.)

Always remember one thing… God loves you… Not because of who you are… But because of who He is. And because He loves you, He sent the wonderful gift of the Holy Spirit to help you to overcome all the temptations of this world.

God bless you, cups.

Love in Christ,

~ Andy
