It seems like his point was to show the birth/life of Jesus from a different perspective.

I mentioned no names, sir, and I failed to mention them with cause.

The problem is that he comes from a point of view that compares God to just any 'older man'. Phrased the way he did, most of us would agree with his statements.

And yet - to run with your analogy - you fail to comment on Joseph's place in this. Presuming courtship before betrothal and marriage, he was chasing rather young girls indeed.

...and yet the New Testament is not a book of the condemnation of Joseph. Perhaps, as the foster-father of the Son of God, he also gets 'status privledges,' by which you dismiss a life which you deduce is that of Jesus?

So much of value voided by 'special priveledge'...

He has taken a much different situation vaguely resembling the story of Jesus, and expects us to agree with his views on Jesus by agreeing with this very thinly related fictional perspective on things.

How odd - I never explicitly mentioned him. If the relation is so thin, why and how are you so certain of it?

But, since you bring him up, let's talk about Jesus. Why DID he favor the official 'scum of the earth,' the pariahs of an age, over those who were widely held to be righteous and Godly men? Hmm? Is there no signifigance whatsoever, no conscious purpouse, illustrated by the fact that the one Jesus asked was too ashamed to even speak the word 'Samaritan?'

But, surely, these are just privledges of a child of God, and hold no message of import for our lives today - right? It's not like he came to teach us, or show us the way - right?

Our way is to follow righteous and Godly men, is it not? Those who rightly denounce adulteresses and homosexuals and others who are not so Godly as them, men who make no secret of their faith and of their righteous life.

By all means, do so. From this you have your reward, and I would not wish to take from you that which you have chosen.
