Working for God is not about feelings and emotions. It isnt about waiting for God to touch your heart so that you can get into ministry. Its about going out and making things happen yourself. God doesnt ask some people to do his work he asks all people. It isnt a matter of sitting back and waiting to see what God wants. Its a matter of getting to work and keeping your eyes open for when God leads you elsewhere. If you sit back and wait, then oftentimes nothing will ever get done. You have to be proactive, not reactive. If you want to do God's work, then start looking into what there is to do in your church and in your community. Maybe you havent heard God's plan because you haven't looked. Maybe when you start making phone calls, when you start meeting with your pastor or with other church members, maybe then someone will mention something about a ministry and thats when you will feel God's pull to get into that ministry. Maybe its your pastor who knows where God needs you, thats an important function of pastors and church leaders, they know (through both intellect and divine enlightenment) their people and they know who to fit into what positions. Its Satan who typically wants people to wait, he wants people to say, "maybe tommorrow" or..."when I have time" or.."when I feel God's calling". As long as he can keep you waiting then he keeps things from getting done. God doesnt want you to work for him tommorrow he wants you to work for him today, tommorrow might be too late. Granted, your work may require that you first prepare yourself as Oliver is doing. Thats fine, you are working, your working on yourself so that you can be ready to do God's work. But dont just sit back and wait for God to enlighten you, I know too many christians who wasted their life waiting for that enlightenment and did nothing in the end.
