But it seems to me like its more a cultural issue than a biblical one. Jacob, Solomon, and countless other men of God from the Old Testament had more than one wife. I dont think there is anywhere in the bible that the practice is abolished, it seems it was simply the culture that changed. Marriage is a covenant made before God that binds a man and a woman together. It gives them the right to procreate and to share the same household.
