A question

Boys are beautiful. (Especially the 14-year-old I saw today...)

But what is the purpose of that beauty? For whose benefit is it? Why has God/Nature/Evolution (take your pick) made boys beautiful? Or why has God/Nature/Evolution made many men to find boys beautiful? What purpose does it serve?

I was thinking today that for the most part, the beauty of teenage boys is of no value to women, because by the time they've grown up their beauty has turned into adult handsomeness, which is often different, and often applies to different men from those who used to be beatiful boys. It's of no value to girls their own age, because they tend to prefer boys who are tough and manly rather than beautiful.

So is it true to say that the beauty of boys is wasted on everyone except us? That God/Nature/Evolution has made it so that only men really appreciate the beauty of teenage boys? Or am I wrong about what girls like? Do girls in fact like the same kind of boys as I do after all?

Any comments?

Jules
