I have read your post and I feel that I need to point out something to you in your comments about the speak and type program. There are several things that you did not take into consideration. First of all, there are several different types of these programs on the market. Some are of high quality, some are cheap imitations. Which program was he using? By the sounds of it a middle of the road version. Also, each program has different settings for the microphone. Some settings will pick up the background sounds as far away as ten feet, and voices as far away as five feet. What was the setting? High, which would pick up these noises, or low? I would have to say the setting was on high. And the comment about the “?” being in there, some of these programs put in a “?” when they don’t understand a word or sound. Other put in “*” to indicate where there is confusion. And still others print nothing at all. What kind of microphone was he using? A headset or a desk top? What quality was that? Some of the cheaper microphones will pick up everything, where the better ones have limiters in them that block out these noises. And the sound card that the microphone was connected to. What quality was that? Or what brand? Again, if it was an inexpensive one it would not have a filter in it. And how long had he been using the program? Was new to it or not? If he was just starting to use it then he may not have adjusted the settings to block out these sounds. It does take a few times of using a new program like this to set the limits and settings correctly. Think of how many times you have had to learn how to operate a new program and made mistakes with it in the process. As for the not being able to delete what was put up, well he could have just closed the window and started over. But, with that aside, the rest of your comments are, at best, inaccurate. I’m not defending anyone here. I don’t know anyone. I happen to come here at the suggestion of a friend. I will say that I am glad to see a Christian based Boylove website, but I am surprised by the posts that I have seen here. There is little or no discussion of what the header on the site says. As a Christian myself, and a boylover, I was hoping to find support here. But now, I’m not sure if this is where I want to be. |
