Dear Christians,

The question is if I am allowed to join these conversations. This is my first message and therefore like to tell something about myself. I see myself as a spiritual person, rather than a religious one. I was brought up in the Catholic Church in Holland and was very much part of the refreshing wind of renewal in the 50s that blew away many dogmatic cobwebs. From as young as I can remember I was aware of my spiritual quest. But then I emigrated to New Zealand where I was confronted with the dogmatism of 1000 years of Irish Catholic dogmatism. I tried to be part of this, but eventually I realised that I had to leave the church as there was no way in which one could develop one's spirituality within the church. For me spirituality is a practical form of self realisation (and thereby realising God within). At the conclusion of selfrealisation I was blessed to go through the transcendence that Jesus talks about. (everything becomes new, entering the kingdom of Heaven etc). I feel now that I am beyond religion, but I do have a great affinity with those who seek. I cannot call myself a Christian or align myself with any religious groups. However the question under discussion is: Are non Christions welcom in this chat group? Am I??
I am a BL and have for a long time been a member of various BL activists lists and organisations.
