Boy can I relate to this one, in many different ways. In fact, even before I was a Christian, I had the problem that the distraction of beautiful boys would make it difficult to do my job well sometimes. Now, I find myself trapped between working away from boys, in which case I am depressed, sad and not using the talents that God gave me, but at least am staying pure. Or working around boys, but being unable to stop lusting.

Jesus was pretty clear on how to handle the situation. He said:

Matthew 5

29If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to
be thrown into hell.
30And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body
to go into hell.

One of the ways that I have dealt with this I learned from a sermon a while back. He said to use this system:

a) Evaluate
b) Regulate
c) Amputate

In evaluating your situation, we see that 'yep' your situation is causing you to sin. The next step is regulating. I have done this many times this summer when I would spend the afternoon going swimming with the twins. Sitting with them by the pool, wearing nothing except their swim suits, was so tantalizing for me, I would usually end up masterbating that night. It reached the point where this activity was also causing me to sin. So, I made a decision that it was better to swim with the twins and NOT masterbate than to NOT swim. As soon as I came to this conclusion, knowing ahead of time that I would not lust after them at the pool, the situation improved. I still very much enjoyed seeing their fresh beautiful faces and bodies, but I tried to bathe in the beauty instead of feeling that desire in my loins. Ultimately, I had to either do this, or amputate. I believe that if we take advantage of a situation that God has given us, we will not benefit in the long run. God wont let that situation persist.

Does this make any sense? You are being trusted (by God) to regulate yourself when you are around boys.

I still haven't 100% concluded that looking at cute boys is the same kind of sin that Jesus referred to in Mat 5. But I do not think that he wants us to have free rein to lust and masterbate at will. That does NOT seem like it would be God's will. Can you imagine Jesus acting that way?

You are not alone
