I guess if you don't accept the bible, then you can debate the existence of any sin in general.

Ben,

I find this to be a very rude statement.

Somehow I doubt that you follow all of those laws in Leviticus yourself. Why is it you pick and choose your verses in this way?

If you read Romans 1 from verse 24, you will see that it talks about worshipping idols(their bodies) in particular -- that is the reason men were to take up lusts other than that which God planned for him. I take this to mean that those men who "abandoned natural relations with women" were heterosexual, that is, primarily attracted to women. Verse 28 is also critical to understanding the passage.

"Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless."
Romans 1 vv. 28-31

To my way of thinking this puts homosexuals in the same camp as gossips, arrogant, heartless people as well as those who disobey their parents. It hardly seems to be a passage railing against homosexuality in the way that present day Christian right speakers like to rant...

I would really appreciate hearing your comments on this passage.

Peace of Christ,
Bach
