Hi LaCrese,

I must confess I have not heard many of your interpretations of the Law before, but I would like to comment on what I consider to be your obey-without-question blind faith regarding one of the commandments.

The commandment is: "Honour thy father that begat thee & thy mother that bore thee."

Part of your explanation/interpretation of that commandment is:

"Honour means to love, obey, respect, esteem, cherish, show deference (in case of disagreement, yield to your parents wishes) & acquiesce
(consent without protest). Hudson Taylor said I've yet to see a couple prosper who went against their parents wishes. I can say the same about an individual. Doesn't the Bible say that if you wanna live long on this earth, you haft to obey your parents? How long do we haft to? Until 18? 21? Married? For life?"

Here's a hard fact: when I was 12 years old my mum - who suffers from manic depression - wanted me to commit suicide with her. That was her wish, and she was most upset when I said "no". I cannot see now how acquiesing to such a wish would have meant a long life on this Earth for myself.

Hudson Taylor obviously does not get out much. Either that, or he doesn't live in the same world as the rest of us. Nor, I suspect, do you.

Good day to you sir.

Peace be with you

Rex Infinity
