I hope you don't mind me leaving a message on the board. I am a doctoral researcher at the University of Cambridge, England. My thesis aims to relay the experience of someone who has a forbidden attraction to the younger members of society, in particular someone who has an attraction but has NOT engaged in activity that would My motivation for selecting this issue for my work is two fold. Firstly, there is the assumption within theories and legislation that an attraction to children automatically leads to direct sexual contact with them. There are many reasons for doubting this, but current attempts at understanding focus on those who have exercised their interest directly, because of this assumption. Secondly, there seems to be a lot of peripheral 'literature' addressing the issue of child loving (e.g. legislation, victimology / demographic studies, and a few theories) but very little writing available that actually conveys 'the person' i.e. their inner experiences, perceptions, life histories, how their attraction has influenced their life, and so forth. I am hoping that there may be some people who come to this board who would like to talk to me.
