When I was a boy, I wanted nothing more than to have other boys for close friends. When I was a teenager, I was told I should have girlfriends, so I did. When I was in college, I was told I should have girlfriends, but I didn't. When I was in grad school, I was told I should love girls and want to marry one, so I tried my best to want this. When I started work, I was told it was time to marry, so I tried even harder. One night I saw myself on the edge of a black abyss, about to fall in. I quit trying to find a wife or even a girlfriend, and I've never wanted either again. I still enjoy nothing more than having boys for close friends. ---Ford |
