Secure relationships can take many forms, not all of which include any sort of relationship with the family.

As for relationships built around one point of contact...why would you even label such a person your YF? A YF is the BL version of a girlfriend. Who has ever heard of a girlfriend that he only gets to see thursday nights at the bowling alley?
