My point of view is that I would much rather have one large, vibrant community filled with diverse Christian BL perspectives than to have a bunch of small and slow ones with a homogenous membership. The Christian BL community would be much better served if there were only one forum that everyone felt comfortable posting in.

Unfortunately, when there was only one forum, those with views that were underrepresented chose to stay away instead of joining in and bringing more diversity to the forum.

Just the other day, I was in a discussion with other leaders of my church about how we wish we had a more racially diverse congregation. Unfortunately, in the region where I live, it is common for churches to be segregated. It's not that churches want to be segregated, it's that those who belong to an underrepresented race in a particular church are not likely to stick around long enough for others who look like them to feel comfortable attending the church. If only they had stuck around a little longer, another family might have felt comfortable staying, then another, and another, and we would have that racial diversity we seek. But they left and so did the next family, and the next, and things remain the same... Seems to be the same thing that happened here and that happens in internet forums and organizations in general.
