Admittedly, it's just the book of John, so only one of the four books, but John 13 flat out explains the fact that he's cuddling with some dude with "oh yeah, they were lovers."

It's... not the only reason to assume that most Christians would denounce, revile, and/or kill Jesus. The dude was fine with unsavory company, for goodness' sake, and all that flat-out denouncing of literally everything they do to act holy in the eyes of others (including acting holy in the eyes of others) is annoying.

...but it does shed light on how thoroughly the religion is bullshit, in the Gandhian "your Christians are so unlike your Christ" sense.

Sad, honestly. Book's nice, though.
