Why do people think the bible is 100% correct when it was written by an unperfect human? I know that people love the book but I happen to beleve that it is not 100% correct you know waht i mean its almost impossable its only translation.

Wow - the hardest question last.....

The starting point is:

'All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the person of God may be complete, equipped for every good work' 2 Timothy 3 v 16,17

The argument is that God has acted in a miraculous fashion to provide us with a book - or series of books - that are a specially designed to be a message from Him. The logic which modern protestants have applied is that for the Bible to carry the weight they want it to, it must be 100% correct. The danger of this approach is that the bible is seen to be the answer to everything, whereas it should be part of the equipment of the Christian, but they should mainly be guided directly by the Holy Spirit.

I hope somewhere in what I've said you'll find something that is helpful. I've split my replies so that others can address the issues singly - hopefully it will make for a weekend when we can grow in faith together as we talk of the wonders of our God.
