How can we rise to perfection?

Perhaps Paul was right that our sin will keep us from inheriting the kingdom. Paul, of course, was Saul. Still, after his conversion, he had problems dealing with sin..."I sometimes do things I don't want to do." (~ Romans) He struggled and felt awful about his inability to get rid of his selfish desires, his sin. How can we rise to perfection? I am not God! I just hope the truth of God's forgiveness will excuse me for my failings. I am just a man, a sinner. I believe in His love conquering His judgement to put me where we all belong...out of His kingdom. I recgonize my sinful nature, but what are my options? Do I codem myself? Do I hide and say I am okay? The sinful nature that can codem me will rise again OR God will reveal to me other ways in which I am sinful. I can never reach perfection. I have made many steps forward in my life. I'm just not sure what else I must do to reach the Kingdom of Heaven. When I am before Him, I just hope He forgives and washes me clean with His love. "I sometimes do things I don't want to do." I hope when my time comes, I will hear the angels sing, "Welcome Home."
