I don't have sex with boys because society is sick. I don't have sex with boys because too many sad and evil people think something is wrong with sex.

People who take a dark view of sex are really fucked up, IMO.

But there's a HUGE difference in thinking that a good thing taken too far makes the thing bad or even potentially bad.

Sex is not potentially bad or even potentially very important. Certainly, people ought to be responsible and consider other's feelings. I wouldn't have sex with a man if I thought his lover would be offended by that. I don't personally buy into sexual monogamy (I think it's irrational and have never been able to understand why it ought to be important) but if a potential sexual partner has a committed partner who I have reason to believe finds monogamy to be important, then I'd step back.

But none of this impinges on the discussion of sex being so bad that it can devour or destroy. How silly that sounds.

People are responsible for their own behavior and for not hurting others with it.

Calling sex "dark" because some people might be inconsiderate about it just boggles the mind. Eating is another physically pleasurable activity that many people disagree about. Some people like their steak rare, some well done and others don't like to eat meat at all.

Yet we don't see the kind of stupid, superstitious hysteria about eating that we do about sex.

The lady doth protest too much.

The potential for social inconvenience doesn't even come close to justifying the current, irrational sexual hysteria, especially the Christian one.

Jim
